Town Ordinance: Parking During Winter Months #00-1
EFFECTIVE November 1, through May 1 each year, no parking shall be permitted on any Town road or Town maintained road between the hours of 11:00pm and 6:00am or anytime during storms and related Town operations for snow and ice removal and control. The parking ban shall be in effect seven days a week.
Violator's vehicles shall be removed under the direction of the Highway Department Manager or Chief of Police. Charges for towing and storage shall be paid by the owner for release of the vehicle.
The Hooksett Department of Public Works consists of the Divisions of Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries, Highway, Recycling & Transfer, Code Enforcement, and Community Development.
Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries
Responsible for taking care of the landscaping of town owned property, oversees the Community Garden, oversees the town's Fun In The Sun Day Camp Program, and scheduling usage for the town's gym, which is located at Town Hall. Cemetery Maintenance is also handled by this Division. This is a joint responsibility between three different entities; Community Development processes the Deeds; Parks & Recreation processes the Grave Opening Requests, digs and backfills the graves, and performs the landscaping; and the Cemetery Commission sells the lots. Responsible for road maintenance, drainage, catch basins, ditching, brush cutting, sweeping, plowing, sanding/salting, culvert pipe installation, and public safety signage. Also handled by this Division is Building Maintenance, which is responsible for all the interior and exterior maintenance of all Town buildings and properties, and Fleet Maintenance.
