The Town of Hooksett, Department of Public Works, will be closing at noon on Friday, October 9th, for an employee appreciation lunch.  The Recycling and Transfer Division will be closing at noon on Friday but will reopen on Saturday, October 10th, at 8:00am.  This will not affect the collection of trash on Friday.  Please call the facility at 669-5198 if you have any questions.

The Department of Public Works will also be closed on Monday, October 12th, for Columbus Day.  Monday’s trash and recycling will be collected on Tuesday along with Tuesday’s trash and recycling.  Please expect delays between the recycling and trash collection.  Please call the facility if you have any questions.

The Hooksett Department of Public Works consists of the Divisions of Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries, Highway, Recycling & Transfer, and Community Development.

Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries
Responsible for taking care of the landscaping of town owned property, oversees the Community Garden, oversees the town's Fun In The Sun Day Camp Program, and scheduling usage for the town's gym, which is located at Town Hall.  Cemetery Maintenance is also handled by this Division.  This is a joint responsibility between three different entities; Community Development processes the Deeds; Parks & Recreation processes the Grave Opening Requests, digs and backfills the graves, and performs the landscaping; and the Cemetery Commission sells the lots.  Fee Schedule

Responsible for road maintenance, drainage, catch basins, ditching, brush cutting, sweeping, plowing, sanding/salting, culvert pipe installation, and public safety signage.  Also handled by this Division is Building Maintenance, which is responsible for all the interior and exterior maintenance of all Town buildings and properties, and Fleet Maintenance.
