Dog Licensing

Pursuant to RSA 466:1; all dogs four (4) months old and over shall be registered with the Town Clerk. Dog licenses expire on the 30th of April and are required to be renewed prior to expiration each year.


What do I need to register my dog?

Obtaining a dog license is a simple process. You will need to provide the following items:

  • Current rabies vaccination certificate, showing the vaccination tag number and expiration date.
  • Spay or Neuter certificate (if applicable). Dogs that have been altered are registered at a reduced price
  • Basic owner information (name address, telephone number)
  • Payment - see fee schedule below.

You may choose to mail the information to us rather than coming in person. If you choose to register or renew via mail, please be sure to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Please do not mail cash. Checks may be made payable to Town of Hooksett.

  • Spayed or Neutered (Altered).............................$6.50
  • Non-altered..........................................................$9.00
  • Senior Citizens (residents age 65 & over)...........$2.00 applies to first dog, regular rates apply for each additional
  • Group / Kennel License (5 dogs or more)............$25.00

All dogs must be registered by May 31st. As of June 1st late fees will be applied to any unregistered dog. Dog registrations can be done at Hooksett Town Hall Room 102, Town Clerk/Tax Office. Please bring in updated rabies vaccination information.
