The Hooksett Heritage Commission will be hearing from members of the public regarding the demolition of the circa 1900 building at 53 Martin’s Ferry Road, formerly the home of Fred C. Underhill, now owned by Southern NH University (SNHU).
Pursuant to the town Demolition Regulation the Heritage Commission is charged with reviewing any petition for demolition of a building 50 years or older and greater than 500 sq. ft. of gross floor area. The commission reviewed the SNHU petition at their last meeting and found that the building might be of historical or architectural significance.
The purpose of the public session is to hear all public testimony regarding the demolition of the building. The applicant is invited to attend to hear concerns or alternatives that are proposed by the commission or members of the public.
The hearing will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Lilac Bridge Room at the Hooksett Public Library, 31 Mt. St. Mary’s Way, Hooksett, NH. If you are unable to attend the hearing, comments via email to Hooksett.Heritage@myfairpoint.net will be accepted and included in the record of the hearing.
