The Hooksett Department of Public Works consists of the Divisions of Code Enforcement, Community Development, Highway, Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries and Recycling & Transfer.
Parks, Recreation & Cemeteries
Responsible for taking care of the landscaping of town owned property, oversees the Community Garden, oversees the town's Fun In The Sun Day Camp Program, and scheduling usage for the town's gym, which is located at Town Hall. Cemetery Maintenance is also handled by this Division. This is a joint responsibility between three different entities; Community Development processes the Deeds; Parks & Recreation processes the Grave Opening Requests, digs and backfills the graves, and performs the landscaping; and the Cemetery Commission sells the lots.
Highway
Responsible for road maintenance, drainage, catch basins, ditching, brush cutting, sweeping, plowing, sanding/salting, culvert pipe installation, and public safety signage. Also handled by this Division is Building Maintenance, which is responsible for all the interior and exterior maintenance of all Town buildings and properties, and Fleet Maintenance.
