Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement/Building is a Division of Community Development Department. The Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector administers, interprets, and enforces the provisions of the Town's Building Code and the State of New Hampshire's Building Code(s). Building Permits and Certificates of Occupancy are obtained through this office. The Town of Hooksett currently adopts the International Building Code 2018 edition.

The Town of Hooksett is excited to introduce a new online system for the below listed permits. This is an automated program for applying and paying for permits online. Here you may also view the status of your application as it is being processed and print out your permit after it is issued

The following permit types are currently available to applicants online : 

• Electrical Permit
• Gas Permit
• Plumbing Permit
• Fundraiser  Permit
• Yard Sale Permit
• Septic Permit

The first step is to create an applicant user account:

Once you have created your account credentials, login and click on the upper left button “New Application”.  Select one of the listed permit types to open a new application form.

When your application is submitted, you can click on the "eye" () icon to view the status of your permit application.

You can pay online after the application is submitted by clicking the "eye" () icon and going to the “Pay Fee” transaction on the Status Panel.

Permit applications are addressed quickly, but please allow at least 48 hours for your application to be reviewed. Municipal staff may use the “Chat” feature for any questions or to let you know if additional information or documents need to be uploaded.  You can chat back by clicking on the bubble icon ().

After the permit is issued, you can log into your account at any time and print your permit.
