Increased Hours at the Recycling Center
In an effort to increase the volunteer recycling program, the Town of Hooksett Recycling and Transfer Center will remain open till 7:00 on Wednesday evenings for the daylight savings season. The extended hours will begin on May 28th and continue Wednesday evenings through September 24th. No contractors or commercial businesses will be allowed. The facility accepts magazines, newsprint, cardboard, plastic bottles, junk mail, steel cans, aluminum cans and glass bottles. For more information please call 669-5198.

Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th
The Hooksett Town Hall will be closed on Monday, May 26th for Memorial Day. The Recycling and Transfer Department will also be closed for the Memorial Day weekend from Saturday May 24th thru Monday May 26th. Monday’s trash will be collected on Tuesday. The recycling trailer will not be out on the holiday.

Town Election, Tuesday, May 13th
The Town election will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at the David R. Cawley Middle School, 89 Whitehall Road from 6 am until 7 pm. Please call the Town Clerk's Office at 485-9534 for more information.

Hooksett was honored in 2005 as a Preserve America community. Hooksett was the first community in New Hampshire to receive this recognition!

The Preserve America initiative is a new White House effort to encourage and support community efforts for the preservation and enjoyment of America’s priceless cultural and natural heritage. First Lady Laura Bush, Honorary Chair of Preserve America, wrote in a letter congratulating Hooksett: “You honor our nation’s past and inspire and educate for the future.”
